Noisy sump pump or something worst?...........

Now I know what caused the rattle sounds when I tested the pump. The submersible sump pump was discharging Pea Gravel and Soil that accumulated in the pit from the drain tile. At first glance you might think the sump pit just needs to be cleaned of the debris. Removing accumulated sediment is important to extent the life of the pump but the real concern is the presents of the pea gravel. The gravel is signaling a failed drain tile that is allowing gravel and soil into the sump pit. Over time the drain tile may become plugged leading to a wet basement and costly repair. If your sump pit is filled with gravel and soil contact a licensed contractor specializing in foundation drainage systems to evaluate and remedy.
